The Importance of Composition, Cropping, and Storage
On October 31, I learned about and wrote a discussion on photo composition, cropping, storage, and why they are important to a picture. Photo composition is the way that all the elements of a picture are arranged within that photo. Photo composition is important to a picture because pictures are the first thing a reader sees and photo composition helps to arrange the photo elements in an appealing fashion that interests the reader and captures their attention. Cropping is used, most commonly, to remove areas of a photo that contribute either irrelevant information or no information to the picture. This process is important because it removes the useless parts of a picture that may otherwise distract the reader from the photo's main action of interest. Storage is important so that, when cropping or editing a picture, the original picture is still saved in case the edited version takes a turn for the worse.
